Mark Hill began his career in the financial services industry in 1983 as a financial consultant with EF Hutton. Prior to co-founding investment management and financial planning company Pacific Wealth Management in 1998, he held a variety of investment advisory positions with global financial services companies, including serving as a portfolio manager for Smith Barney.
After both personal and professional experience with divorce, in the early 2000’s Mark formed Pacific Divorce Management to address the under-served area of financial expertise in marital dissolution. At that time he became involved with the early collaborative movement, helping develop the first models and protocols of the Collaborative Divorce team approach.
An active member of his professional community, Mark has served as a board member of the San Diego Financial Planning Association and as Treasurer of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He has also served as President of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego on two occasions, as a member of the board of Collaborative Practice California (CP Cal) together with holding board and officer positions with a number other of local non-profits.
Mark has been advising clients in the financial aspects of divorce since the 1990’s. He started specializing in the field as a result of his personal frustration of how poorly money issues were addressed in his own divorce. Experience with watching several of his financial planning clients endure the same process led him to become one of the earliest practitioners in the country to specialize in this critically important area.
Mark is a nationally-recognized speaker on the financial aspects of divorce and has been quoted in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal and the LA Times. From 2001 to 2009 he was the primary financial trainer with Collaborative Divorce Team Trainings. He is very proud of the fact that he was involved with the training of hundreds of professionals across north America in this game-changing approach to divorce. In 2006 Mark was honored to receive CP Cal’s Eureka award for his contribution to the Collaborative movement in California.
He holds an honors degree from the University of Keele, England, and is a graduate of the College for Financial Planning. He is both a Certified Financial Planner certificant and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst.
For R and R Mark would rather be playing guitar and singing in his rock band. You can check them out here: https://www.bandmix.com/no-country-for-old-men/
